Knitting Socks

Class Comments: This is a three hour class!!

Class Description: Margaret is planning a sock class.  The cost of the class includes class, pattern, yarn.   Students will need to bring size 7 double pointed needles to class.   Please let The Mercantile know if you need size 7 double pointed needles - they can be ordered and are extra. (About $9.00 for a set of 5 bamboo) Learn to knit socks the old fashioned way - with double pointed needles!  We will make a mini sock during class that will teach students all the techniques needed for person sized socks. Students must know how to cast on, knit, purl and bind off.    Call the store today to reserve your spot!  There are only 3 spaces left.

A new knitting class from Margaret of Yes Yarn

We are so happy to provide the classroom space for another wonderful knitting class presented by Margaret Nieman of yes yarn.  Students in her previous classes were asking about color patterns and Margaret came up with a fun gift bag project to fit the bill...

Knitted Fair Isle Snowflake Gift Bag - Saturday, December 11, 9 - 11am

Cost: $40.00 which includes yarn and pattern

Other supplies needed: Two 16" size 6 circular needles, size 6 straight needles, yarn needle

Learn to follow a simple colorwork chart just in time for the holidays!  Other techniques involved will be knitting in the round and the three needle bind off.  Students need to be able to cast on, knit and purl proficiently.  Some experience knitting in the round would be helpful.

Knitted Ladder Scarf - Saturday, October 2, 9 - 11am

yes yarn's Margaret Nieman will teach this class to make a gorgeous scarf for yourself or someone you love.  Cost of the class includes the pattern and the yarn.  Please bring size 8 and/or size 10 straight or circular knitting needles to class.  Students should know how to cast on, knit, purl and bind off. (A sample of the scarf is on display at The Mercantile.)
